Preview : Gorjys Secrets : 15-16 September 2017

Gorjys Secrets had a triumphant debut in 2016 - a glorious late summer day met a superbly produced event, and the resultant experience was award winning in its first year.

Billed as singer songwriter event, Gorjys Secrets casts its net wide for performers. This year's programme has some exceptional artists in it - you should be willing to walk a long way barefoot over sharp stones to hear a voice as powerful and emotive as Karima Francis'; that you can see her sing at an intimate festival is remarkable.

The calibre of performer attracted to Gorjys Secrets is largely due to its curation by the capable team behind The 3rd Space, Llandudno - an established, vibrant comedy and music venue. Add that experience to the right outdoor setting and you have a successful formula, as last year demonstrated.

The festival runs over a Friday evening and all day Saturday, and is held at Caer Rhun Hall, Conwy - a bucolic venue just a few miles off the A55. There's a range of ticket options (and camping too) - a full weekend ticket for an adult is £55, with very steep discounts for students and U16s. U10s go free.

Beyond the headliners (Lewis Watson is a major talent, Jon Gomm is both an astonishing songwriter and an acoustic guitar wizard) the argument for buying a ticket can be set out in twelve short steps, nine more than Showaddywaddy needed to get to heaven, but a case completed all the same:
