Omaloma : Bubblegum (7" single)

Starting with Ha Ha Haf in 2016 Omaloma have released a set of blissful space pop singles - Bubblegum is the first on vinyl, released as a 7" single and download on 9th March. It more than warrants the extra effort to create the physical form - as the lead track inarguably marks out the significance of Omaloma's creative force George Amor.

Sung in English and Welsh, Bubblegum is a definitive four minute essay in creating a dream-like pop mood with vocal, keyboard and drum machine. There's a rapturous, elating chorus thrown in for good measure.

Backed by an extended version of the already released, just-off-perfect-psychedelic-pop of Aros o Gwmpas (which has already had airplay from the likes of Gideon Coe, Lauren Laverne, Tom Ravenscroft and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music and Huw Stephens on Radio 1), Bubblegum is enough of a musical reverie to stop dead in its tracks a Wrexham poundstore riot. I can think of no higher praise.
